What happens when I die?
When the time comes, your designated contacts can confirm your death through the app. Once verified, your memories and important information will be shared with the appropriate people. You have full control over what is shared and who sees it.

Yes, you can cancel your account at any time. If you decide to stop using rMembr, we’ll ensure that your data is safely and securely deleted, per our privacy policy.

Can I export my data?
Yes, you can export your data at any time. You’ll have the option to download your memories and stored information securely for your own records or backup.

What happens if I die and my contact doesn’t have the rMembr app?
If your designated contact doesn’t have the app, they can still access your data through a secure web link sent to their email. They’ll be guided through a verification process, including providing a photo ID, to ensure security. Once verified, they’ll receive a downloaded version to the memories and information you’ve shared with them — without creating an account.

Can I remove a contact?
Yes, you can add or remove contacts at any time. If you remove a contact, they will no longer have access to any of your memories or information, and any previously shared access will be revoked.

What happens to my data if I don’t renew my plan?
If you don’t renew your paid plan, your account will revert to the free Core plan. Your data will be deleted in line with the timeframes outlined in our Terms and Conditions — until deletion it will remain securely stored. Access to certain features (like additional contacts or memory uploads) will be limited unless you renew or upgrade your plan again.

Subscriptions help us keep your memories secure, your data protected, and the platform running reliably for the long term. It covers everything from encrypted storage to ongoing updates and GDPR compliance. But we also believe everyone deserves to preserve their story, so we offer a completely free Core plan to make sure rMembr is available to everyone.

What sort of content can I post on rMembr?
You can share videos, audio notes, photos, letters, important documents, and personal posts. Many people use rMembr to build a timeline of moments, stories, and practical information they want their loved ones to have — both meaningful and useful.

How will my contacts know I’ve added them to rMembr?
When you add someone as a contact on rMembr, they’ll receive an email letting them know they’ve been named. This email won’t contain any of your data — it’s simply to inform them and explain what to expect if your account is ever marked as deceased.

What if my contact doesn't have an email address?
If your contact doesn’t have an email address, unfortunately we can’t add them. Because rMembr is a secure, internet-based service, all adult contacts must have a valid email to receive access links and verify their identity when the time comes.
For under-18s, it works a little differently. You can still add them, but their access is managed by an assigned adult — someone you choose and authorise to receive and share the content on the child’s behalf until they turn 18.

Does my paid-for plan auto-renew?
Yes, your paid plan will automatically renew at the end of your subscription period, ensuring there is no interruption to your rMembr service. You’ll receive a reminder before your renewal date, giving you the option to cancel if you prefer.

How do I report a death?
To report a death, simply log in to your rMembr account and follow the process within the app or use the link sent to your email. You’ll be asked to provide the death certificate, a photo ID, and contact details for the person reporting the death. Once verified, the account will be marked as deceased, and the relevant data will be made available to the designated contacts.

Providing ID is essential for verifying your identity when you open an account with rMembr. This helps us ensure that your account is secure and properly authenticated from the start. Additionally, before accessing any deceased contact's data, ID verification is required to confirm that you are authorised to view the information.
